![]() They provide all the broad-spectrum protection you need to protect against UV rays (including the American Academy of Dermatology's recommended SPF 30 sunscreen rating) without the white, ashy finish. That's where tinted SPF formulas come in. Green adds that the white cast is actually an indication that the sunscreen is working and is creating a physical barrier on your skin, albeit a very unflattering one. " typically contain ingredients like zinc oxide or titanium oxide which create a white cast on the skin," she says. Speaking of mineral-based sunscreens, these formulas are more likely to create a white cast, especially on those with darker skin tones, says New York City-based board-certified dermatologist Michele Green, MD. Some photos of my installation are here in a previous post. I'm sure the set for the E39 sedan works fine, too. I also bought a set for my wife's 2001 Volvo S40 sedan, 2-piece for the rear doors and 2-piece for the back window and they work great. I expect there is too little demand for E39 Touring shades for them to even bother. I asked about having two-piece shades made for the doors, but the outfit that sells them doesn't make them. That works and also keeps them from blocking the door lock button, but if a rear passenger rolls down the window, the blind can fall out. I have bent my blinds slightly to keep them in place inside the window trim without the clips. if something keeps one of the door lock buttons from popping up, then none of them pop up and you have to get in through the tailgate. Under the right (wrong) conditions, the blinds can keep you from unlocking the car, i.e. Also, the blinds sit right on top of the door lock button if you install them flat using the clips. The instructions are to use the clips they send with them, but I found that the clips don't stay attached to the window trim strip using the double-sided sticky tape. The blinds for the rear doors of the touring are one-piece, not two-piece like for the sedan. The blinds for the tailgate (2 piece) and rear side windows work fine. $223 shipped to the US.I bought the set for my touring a year ago. I'd like some but can't justify the cost. Now that it's been a few years, how have your blinds held up.
